How to paint skirting boards?

No easy ways I`m afraid you have to squat down and get on with it...good luck. How to paint skirting boards?
use low tack masking tape to protect the walls, a gloss roller for the large areas and a small brush for the intricate parts. Make sure you floor covering is protected. How to paint skirting boards?
Carefully.
Firstly rub down skirtings with a medium grade sandpaper, fill all holes with red Devil filler (the best on the market) Apply with a good 2'; paint brush acrylic woodprimer/undercoat.(this is water based and gives such a whiter background). If necessary apply a second coat (which I have found always gives a better finish). In between coats always sand down with a fine sanding block, then apply one coat of gloss or sheen finish.
If you don't want to get get paint on the wall just press something against it, a cd case is quite good
Use masking tape for a nice straight edge.
Use a brush with some paint, perhaps?
Sand them back roughly but not as to damage wood, so new paint will adhere, mask walls, floor too with masking tape if area does not have carpet. Use a undercoat, then paint the colour you want. Remove Masking tape just before paint dries so it don't take your paint with it
I'm sure there are plenty of unemployed men in your trailer park. Pay them to do it.
..use masking tape along bottom edge at floor or carpet... tape newsprint out one page from wall... this will give you place ot set paint and barrier from paint drips on floor... the rest is up to you
rub it down well first.

Use a straight edge to prevent getting it on the wall above if your hand is not too steady, try and protect any flooring also and have something on hand to clear up any spill as soon as it happens
Unless you do it regularly in which case you will be good at freehand it will save you A LOT of hassle later if you get some wide masking and mask above and below - just make sure that the tape isn't too sticky that it pulls off the paint / wallpaper above it. - then you can just slop it on.
I'm in the process of painting my kids room.get yourself some masting tape.line it on either side of the skirting board.that way you don't have to worry about getting paint on the wall.good luck!
just put masking tape top and bottom ...
This a simple task.

Surely any body is up to this.

If you have to ask, it means you have no skills whatsoever.

Get someone in.

It will cost about 50 quid.

You'll spend that on paint, brushes, masking tape, dustsheets, cleaning stuff, and anything i have missed.

How do you add a drop shadow to text in MS Paint?

Okay, if somebody remembers, in MS Paint [time machine / nostalgic music] ...in Windows 3.1 you would select the Text tool, select the background color [third color in later versions, ctrl+click a color] and when you typed, a shadow was also present in the text. I can't do this anymore. Anyone knows if it's still possible? How do you add a drop shadow to text in MS Paint?
It's possible, but it is exceedingly difficult.

Basically, you need to create the text twice, lightly color one version, then position it under the text to be raised. How do you add a drop shadow to text in MS Paint?
It's not possible, I don't think it ever was either... Try using Paint.net, it's free and has a lot of the features Photoshop includes.

http://www.getpaint.net/

Although there is a cheap-looking workaround. Simply type in a shadow color (e.g. gray) you want first. Then type the same text again in whatever color you want, and shift it a few pixels up, down, etc.

How do I remove basketball and baseball stickers on the wall of a room I want to paint.?

Make a solution of sudsy water (dish soap/water). Start rubbing stickers to loosen them and use a putty knife being careful not to nick the wall. They should come off easily. How do I remove basketball and baseball stickers on the wall of a room I want to paint.?
The best way to remove to wall stickers is the heat with a hair dryer.

If they are wall stickers or wall decals, you plug in the hair dryer, wave back and forth until the sticker warms and ultimately the adhesive heats up to a warm state.

This will enable you to peel the stickers off the wall.

Once the sticker is removed, it is recommended you wipe over surface with a cleaner to remove residue.

    Hope that helps.

There's no easy way to strip that old paint off, you either sand paper sand-block type thing, paint stripper or burn it off. For my money sand papering you end up with the best result but it's the hardest way If you have a heat gun, the one that looks like a hair dryer do it that way or paint stripper which could be expensive. I wouldn't use a flame to heat as the paint is of the older type and loaded with lead, even with the heat gun you should use a mask. bYou could try taking the off and send them to be sand blasted?

How do I use paint to merge 2 pics into 1?

Depends on exactly what you are trying to do. If you want to place part of one picture over part of another, open one picture, and select what you want from it. Copy it.

Open the second picture and paste the selection from the first picture into it.

However Paint is very limited, can only have one picture open at a time, and lacks features like feathering (giving the selection a blurry edge so it blends into the new picture better). So it is a poor choice for this type of editing.

Consider download one of the free editors like Paint.NET or GIMP. They are much more powerful and include tools for this type of editing that Paint does not. You can get either free at http://download.com

There's a lot of variables there. Depends on how much needs to be fixed before paint, how many things need to be removed such as trim and how much taping needs to be done. These items add more time and materials and can increase the cost.

I'd get at least 3 or 4 estimates and toss out the highest one and the lowest one. Is the shop neat %26amp; clean? Does the shop seem to be orderly and running well? probably around $2000 if you want it to be nice. any less and it will fade, and be crap in just a few years. and $2000 might still be low end, it just matters where you go.
    If it's a complete re-paint with minimal work, $2,000.
a shop will charge you no less than $1500. and thats 10 years ago, i'm not sure what it is now days. But you can buy a camaro with a good paint job (if you shop around) for the same or less than you would pay to have one painted. the Walmart spray paint job is cheap.

It really depends on what kind of paint your friend used on his face. Try baby oil. He needs to be careful because your eyes, nose and mouth may absorb any chemical that he tries.

Begin by determining the type of paint he used. Find what breaks down that type of paint. Once this is done, try to find a solvent that is safe for his face. By all means be careful. You may need to contact a nurse or doctor.

sounds like they may be ';into the paint';......3-m brand'; per fit 2'; for clear coats..( may take them out with a buffer and a white pad....but you may have to take 2000 grit wet paper and block sand them out....if u have no experience in this, then go to a detail shop and have it done....you can sand through the clear-coat and into the paint if your not extremely careful...and damage the finish to the point of needing a repaint......it may cost u a few bucks to have a pro do it but it could be the best route
Is it in the paint or on the paint. Did battery acid get splashed on the surface and was the paint done professionally? If you had it painted recently the metal could have been improperly prepared. It may also be the edge of a spotted in area and primer over spray is showing through the paint
These marks are the result of using too much or an inferior screen wash. They can be polished out but try using less or better still no screen wash except water.

How long does it take for paint to dry?

so im painting my room and i got half of it done but in order to paint the other half i have to move my furniture to the other side. i was wondering how long it takes for the paint to dry? could i move my furniture to the other side kinda against the wall but not really ?How long does it take for paint to dry?
Well, it really depends on the type of paint you're using. For instance, oil paint takes 10 to 12 hours to dry completely. Latex paint is pretty much dry in a few hours. Keep in mind, that's under ideal conditions. The more humid it is, the longer paint takes to dry.

To speed up the process, you can place a fan in the room and open the windows (unless it's raining outside). Open the door and place the fan in the doorway and make it swivel. You can also turn up the heating in the room to make the drying process go quicker. I'll often be stuck to do this, since often times, we only have a day or two to get a home staged and ready to sell.

Oh... and to remove any smell from the paint, simply cut an onion in half and lay it cut side down in a saucer of water and place it in a corner of the room. I promise, your room won't smell like an onion - or like fresh paint!

When I paint in a room that has furniture in it, I usually place all the furniture in a pile in the center of the room, cover it and paint away.

If you can't do that due to the size of the room, you can most definitely move the furniture to the other side of the room, near the wall but not up against it. Again, the more the air can circulate, the faster it will dry.

Should, by happenstance, you get some paint on your furniture, quickly wipe it off with a damp rag (if it's latex or acryllic paint). If it dries on the furniture because you didn't notice it, you'll need to use either lighter fluid or goo gone - a product you'll find at your home hardware store.

Painting your room pink, will not be plain. Because you are going to find a really cool looking comforter that you love with matching curtains. And then you are going to find pictures that have pink in them to hang on your walls and your going to need throw pillows on your bed in another shade that is in your comforter (other than pink). So your room is definitely going to have a lot going on in it. Painting it is only the beginning of this summertime project!I want to paint my room pink, but that seems so plain!! How can I add something besides one plain color?
You could paint 3 walls pink, and paint the 4th wall in a complementary color that is of a similar tone. For example, if you went with a clear light pink, you could paint the 4th wall with a clear light green or clear light blue. If your pink color is bright, then use bright accent colors. If your pink has a lot of gray in it, then use similarly grayed accent colors.

Another idea is to paint the pink on all four walls, but stop at about 5 or 6 feet up the wall. Use an accent color for the top portion of the walls, or paint the top portion the same color as your ceilings. You could use wood molding trim or another accent color as the horizontal dividing line.

    Good luck!
a great idea (and what i just did to my room) is when you're putting up the tape as to not paint on the ceiling and wooden door frames, put a couple pieces all the way up and down one wall. it will leave white stripes around your room and it looks great. it really adds character. but don't do too many (2-3 per wall) or you'll end up looking like you're in a jail cell. you could also do a border around half the room and paint the top one color and bottom another (light green and pink go well together). but that might be a little too ';babyish.'; good luck.
try a pattern accent with it. i painted my room bright pink and i got fabric to match and it is black with pink polka dots. then im planning to make curtians and pillow cases out of the matirial to accent it just depends on if you like it or not. tip:dont paint the celing pink. paint it white. it makes the room look taller and more roomy. :D
my room is going to be terqouise with hot pink and light pink polka dots and my furnature and my closet lime green and get hot pink/ light pink rugs!!!!!!!!!!!! and i might have like beads hand down from my closet or windows!!!!!! mabye u could do something like that, it depends on how old u r! im like 13 yrs old! thats how i add PIZZAZ to my room!
    depending on your age,

baby room-add purple and mint green accents

    child room-more purple

teenage room-deep purple accents, gray accents.

Find an item of clothing that you love that has pink in it. Then look at the neighboring colors. Use those for accents.
    Here are some suggestions.......

1.You could paint two walls pink and the the other two a diferent colour

2.Put wallpaper up on two of the walls

3.just put loads of posters and photos up that way it won't seem that boring :D

Make sure that the pot is completely dry and free of dirt and dust. Use a primer first, let dry completely and then use acrylic paint. After the acrylic paint has dried, apply an acrylic non-yellowing clear coat.

    What a beautiful anniversary gift.
first paint on a coat of thinned down pva(unibond)as recomended on the tin.when it is dry you can paint on top with any finish you require.
That's a really nice idea. Make sure you prepare the surface well, paint, and then use a varnish to preserve it.
Treat it with a waterproofing solution. Then paint with clear varnish then paint.

strip as much of the lacquer as you can off then sand really smooth paint with kilz and then with preferred color! How to paint existing oak cabinets white?
I took off my doors, filled in my holes, sanded, tacked them off and painted them. Pretty much the same for the installed part. I redrilled holes for the new knobs. Good luck!
First you need to wash them with a good cleaner that doesn't leave a residue behind. Lightly sand in the direction of the grain of the wood, not across the grain. Wipe down with a tack cloth to remove any dust. Paint with a primer, let dry. Then paint with a semi-gloss, or glossy paint, again going with the grain of the wood, not across it. Do not use a flat paint. It doesn't wash well. Make sure you use painters tape to mask off any surfaces you don't want painted.

That's how it's done. My own opinion is that a beautiful piece of oak should never be painted. Why destroy the beauty of the wood? Painted wood never looks as good as stained and sealed wood. Sorry, had to throw that in there.
take all the hardware off wipe downwithcleaner then wipe or paint on wilbond prime with a primersealer then paint two coats at least
I have found it easier to remove the doors and all hardware before painting. Give them a light sanding just to rough up a little. Put a primer on them. Kilz works good. Then paint white. It would be best to use a satin or glossy as the matte finish is harder to clean. If you don't want brush strokes then use a roller.
    you don't
    Yes you can.

I would take the doors and hardware off lightly sand them with a 220 grit paper. Use tack cloth before and between all coats of primer and paint.

Prime them with a good primer. Latex paints are good but if you want the best use an oil based enamel. If you use latex use an enamel. A glossy finish will be the hardest and most durable. But you can use other finishes.

Make sure you lay them (the doors) flat (on saw horses when you paint them and leave them undisturbed while they dry (in a ';dust free' enviorment). The cabinets you can paint in place, the doors is what most people will see the box cabinets are mostly hidden by the door fronts.

The color you choose is up to you, but traditionally painted cabinets tend to be white.

the walls at least once a month to remove all the fingerprints that accumalate on the doors, around light switches etc, but it's like the dirt smudges have soaked into the wall or something because not everything will wash off. I currently use Mr.Clean and a liitle bleach mixed together, but it doesn't clean all dirt smudges off.How can I best wash my walls? Try White vinegar and hot water. How can I best wash my walls? The landlord used cheap paint or maybe it's just a base coat but I like to wash
Buy a bar of Octagon Soap and make a good soapy solution with water. It take some of the worst marks including ink and crayon off of wall plus cuts through grease. All you need otherwise is a good rag and elbow grease.
mr clean magic erasers work the best for walls. They take off markers, crayons, grease, and those nasty little fingerprints that you swear you got off but somehow in a different light they came back!
**** and span works good, but follow the label directions. For oily spots try a solution of TSP (tri sodium phosphate) this is available in paint or hardware stores. Just use rubber gloves to protect you hands.
Try spicnspan. Great for walls and floors.

Yahoo won't let the the word show. How weird.

I typed in a website so you will know what I mean. Yahoo won't let the web page show neither. The link is dead, no need of trying it.

Murphy's Oil is very good for walls, wood, etc.

You should not mix bleach with any other cleaning products.
Have you tried the Mr. Clean magic erasers? Everything in my house is white and I haven't had a problem yet getting all the dirt and finger smudges off my walls, doors, entryways, appliances, etc. Hope this helps.
Get a product called Soilax, usually can get it at hardware stores.
    magic eraser!! It is great!
depending on HOW long you have lived there You can do 2 things really

    1. if You have lived in the Flat for a very short period of time than speak to the Landlord about fresh Paint at His expense.

    2. if they are Your smudges and prints Most likely You will need to Paint with a higher grade of Paint that is washable.

Most drywall is hard to wash, Most times the paint will wipe off like chalk. and leave the area you washed with a yellow tent or Gray. try calling your local Home improvement store and ask for the Paint department and they will be more than glad to help, and may even have a special cleaner.

    Best of luck

Mr. CLean Magic eraser works really well!
Try using for the dirt smudges, the Mr. Clean eraser- I've used it and loved it so much I almost went and cleaned my brothers house who has 5 kids..Thank god I came to my senses..lol Anyways if that don't seem to work try using awesome, rubber gloves, and warm water-spray the area first w/awesome,then wipe down -do it one section at a time as it will run. Both are my favorite deep cleaning item's.

oh yeah one more thing you can buy awesome at any dollar tree for a dollar. It's cheap but works!
there is a product called PST ....it works great on walls
A product called TSP is what we use in smoke and fire damage restoration, it cleans great but it sounds like you have a flat base finish on your walls, not much you can do. I would suggest re-painting with an oil base finish (washable finish), semi-gloss etc...

you're not doing anything wrong. sometimes the game is paused when the frame pops up. make sure that when you press the ';C'; button that its not paused, if it is, then press the ';C'; button and unpause it. That should help. If it doesn't go to http://modthesims2.com and ask around there.

How long do you have to wait before putting another coat of paint on a wall?

It all depends on the paint and the climate du jour where you are painting. If humid it will need longer. However, under all circumstances I normally wait about an hour. This isn't enough time to hang pictures or anything like that, but should be enough for a second coat. How long do you have to wait before putting another coat of paint on a wall?
Wait until it is dry. It depends on how thick you applied it how long that will take. How long do you have to wait before putting another coat of paint on a wall?
Try looking on the back of your paint can ...it should tell you how long to wait between coats. If it's not there or you have painted over it ...I'd say wait at least a minimum of 24 hours.
Read the directions on the can; the longest drying time would be 24 hours the shortest about 2 hours; Depends on the paint.
Depending on your weather conditions - dry to the touch which is usually about 3 hours (we're talking water base paint)

lolz. I was painting some outdoor furniture. Being my stupid self, I didn't wear a hat or anything and got paint all over my hair. %26gt;_%26lt; It's red paint, and on my lighter coloured hair, it looks pink. PINK. I would normally wash it out. Thing is... it's oil based and therefore, not water soluble. D=

haha so, anybody wanna help me out here? XD *is definitely gonna wear a hat tomorrow*How to wash oil-based paint out of hair?
baby oil might work. if that doesn't you'll need a solvent; and I don't recommend putting that in your hair. How to wash oil-based paint out of hair?
unfortunately, you need to use something like mineral spirits for oil pased paint and once it dries, you're SOL. however, if you get it clean out before it dries, you nee to use a good shampoo which will nourish it and a good conditioner to moisturize as mineral spirits really dries it out.
put some conditioner or oil on your hair, let it sit and they try to wipe it out..then wash...(or if you're brave...try some nail polish remover, acetone...don't let it sit, just wipe on and wash out..)
use gasoline or paint thinner and for something safe use olive oil

How do I change gold paint to a beige with gold undertones?

Try different ideas in small areas, like sponge painting. Use the beige over the gold, that way youll still see some of the gold. you could also try using a very light beige color. that way the gold will come through some. How do I change gold paint to a beige with gold undertones?
You don't say what you're painting (walls, furniture) but this should work for both.

Cover the gold paint with beige paint and then rub with a cloth. You can control how much gold shows through this way.

How can I learn to paint?

You can read anout techniques or get instructed, or both...but to learn how to paint is not the same as being able to paint well. To do that, you must paint, paint, paint. Like learning how to play the piano...you gotta do it. After a hundred or so canvases, and dozens of educated critiques...you'll be getting the hang of it. One of the keys is NOT to try to emulate someone else's style. Apply the paint in the manner that feels right. Learn the medium - how it flows, what happens when two colors are put down next to each other...and remember,..mix the value first, then lay it down..and don't mush it around. Good luck! How can I learn to paint?
when i was a kid i used to watch my talented sister draw and i wasnt able to draw a straight line without using a ruler well i was able to draw hearts because i was in love anyway years later i drew some paintings (really horrible) i kept on trying and trying and now my brother says that some of my paintings could be sold for more than $1000....or the easy way just attend classes which i dont recommend unless you are really helpless because classes will not teach how to admire what you can do...you'll know that you have a chance in learning how to paint when you draw something which you feel you can never give to anybody thats why my paintings arent for saleHow can I learn to paint?
first you must have flare the attend night school
Start with the tools paint, brushes, canvas or board, easel and just stand in front of the canvas and paint as it comes from inside. Find the artist within and let it paint.

Or you could go to evening classes.

Get a job with a decorator
I would recommend Not going to a class at first as they can sometimes put off a beginner .Buy some cheap paints (acrylics are easiest as they are water washable, dry fast and don't smell.) look at a few good sites eg http://www.wetcanvas.com - you can post your work here and get freindly feedback from other artists. And have fun , dont be too critical of what you produce at first

    by painting
Start with painting by numbers to build up your hand eye coordination, and then think about a class.
Well experimentation has always worked well for me. Just don't be afraid of making a mess. You will get better the more you do.

If you like to draw?...Then I would suggest that you start with a simple drawing in pencil or ink and use watercolours and a largish brush to lay in watery washes to the back ground. Try adding more colours while the washes are still damp. When you have done the back ground try using a medium pointed brush to add smaller washes to the main object in the picture. When everything is dry you can add a few tiny details with a small brush to finish it off.

If you don't want to draw first it is probably wise to choose a simple landscape to start with. One wet wash for the sky up to the horizon (2/3s up from the bottom is fine) and one wash for the ground, adding a bit more water and a bit more water so that the wash goes weaker towards the horizon. when dry try adding a couple of trees and a path perhaps. The little details will bring a simple painting alive - birds in the sky...fence posts receding into the distance...green shrubbery/grass...people etc

Looking at other peoples paintings may help also. You can find lots of artwork on the Internet. Here are some of mine www.artwanted.com/Elizzabeth

    How to paint Haro F2?

Hi, I have a Haro f2 that I purchased in 2003. It is currently yellow with all black trim. I want to repaint the frame and forks midnight blue, or maybe a blue like midnight blue but instead of a blackish tone more grey. Anyways I want to do the cranks, bars, ect. white. What is the best way to go about doing this. (I dont want to get it done professionally). Thanks! How to paint Haro F2?
    take off all the parts.

take off the crank and the bearings

    mask anything that isn't painted.

go at it with kilz primer and then some nice spray paint.

I've done several bikes this way. it usually works.

just don't get it on any moving parts or anything that's not supposed to be painted.

remember to apply two coats of primer and several coats of spray paint.

How long after we power wash the house do we have to wait to paint it?

That depends! If there's peeling paint then wait 3 days for the surface dry and let the escaping moisture pop off anyother loose paint. Otherwise just wait 2 while doing any repairs or prep like caulking.
make sure it's dry, 12-24 hours. test it if you can't wait.

    good luck.
probly just a hour or 2 if it is wood if is palsitic as soon as it looks dry
don't wait too long because it might get dirty and you don't want to paint over dirt.

How would I go about estimating a price for a mural that I am being asked to paint?

    I studied

I studied Fresco Painting in Art School and someone asked me to paint a mural for them.I don't know what I should charge Does anyone know how I should go about charging a price for an outdoor mural?

frescoHow would I go about estimating a price for a mural that I am being asked to paint?
I don't know a thing about painting. I was in the air conditioning business. So I will tell you how I estimated a job and perhaps that will help you to estimate your job.

Materials, Parts, Expendable tools. If the item cost you up to $8.00 divide by .30 $8.00 to $25.00 divide by .50 Over $25.00 divide by .60 Don't miss charging for everything you use.

Travel time and expense to job. Flat charge for each trip

Labor. charge by the hour or estimate your time and give a total figure. Don't underestimate. I hope this will help you out. Worked for me for years. How would I go about estimating a price for a mural that I am being asked to paint?
Art doesnt have a price, it depends on the artist and how youyr feeling. Maybe if the mural is very large or very small, you can factor in the paint being used or the hours it takes, somthing the is yours can on be priced on by you.
I studied Fine Art at Layton and Commercial Art at Western Wisconsin Tech. It's very hard to put a price on talent! But, you should not have too much trouble putting a price on time and materials. Estimating each will take a little research on materials and a best guess on time; taking in possible weather factors, etc. and then adding about ten percent as a fudge factor.

    Whatever you do, don't sell yourself short! If the ';someone'; you speak of, sees you have talent and you believe you can live up to that and your own expectations, charge a justifiable amount for your time. Best of luck, in a field where '; people are just dying to get recognized.';
ask what their budget is.....if it seems a fair price for what youre being asked to do then youre set...

it doesnt matter how much money you make or lose on your first one...the experience is invaluable....
If you are talented (you know this by how your work compares to others in your genre) you'll be able to garner thousands for a large mural. If you are just starting out this is naturally going to be a less. A 6x6' mural in the NorthEast can run anywhere between 500.00 and 2000.00

A typical way to calc cost is to take all the materials... add to an hourly rate of what you believe your time is worth.

    {All materials + ($perhour X Hours)=Price}

FYI: Get 1/3 or 1/2 the money up front... and that latter once the job is complete... t
I just try to figure out how many hours it is going to take to complete it, and multiply by how much I want per hour. Or, you could just give them an hourly price. Most people prefer to know the bottom line, though.

Anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 depending on the body work required. How much will it cost to get a really good paint job done to my car?
I will give you a couple of things to think about before you do this. 1) when changing the color every piece of trim has to be removed in order to a nice job (very time consuming) 2) you will hurt the resale value if you ever go to sell it. 3) You did not say if you had any dings or dents but that will cost extra 4) you may be better off trying to sell it now and buying one in a color that you like better. As far as the price to do the trim removal and paint, I would say you are looking at around $3500- 5000.
It all depends on where you go to get it painted...I have a friend who owns his own custom paint and repair shop and for a custom paint job he usually charges anywhere between $1500 to $3000. He does very good paint work and is excellent at pin stripping. So its all up to where you go.
I had my Dakota done a few years ago.Tapping out or filling the dings and two coats of primer, two coats of base and finish, ran me $1500. Be prepared to pay for quality!

I had good outcome using one of the companies that comes to your house and does it in place. They tape everything off so the spray doesn't ruin your faucets and walls. They use a very toxic smelling epoxy type mixture, industrial strength.

Home Centers sell refinishing kits. Be aware that it will not look new and you will need to be careful not to use abrasive cleaners on it. factory Finishes are baked on and much harder than repairs. Follow ALL the directions contained with the kit. The preparation is REALLY important. If you don't want to follow the instructions, don't start the process because it will fail quickly.

yea i saw a commercial on some spray paint made for plastic, just go to a hobby stor and ask for that type of spray paint thats perfect for plastic, and then buy paint tape and just cut out the peices. i suggest you make a string from the ceiling or garage and tape it on the top of the controller when you sprayed most of the areas, except the top. once dried then you can spray the top finishing it and let it dry and there ya go
Car paint works the best by far. I used it and my controller turned out great. Take apart the controller and do the individual casing by itself. Let and dry then sand it off, and do another layer. continue this until you like the color and feel of it. It took me 3 layers to look really good.
u need to prime it and then paint it.. car paint works.. sand it. and then prime it again.

    use spray paint

remember to tape off everything that u dont want painted and dissamble ur controller also

i am thinking about painting my car but i don't know how much it would cost..i got a few dents and little rust but nothing major..How much would it cost to paint a 94 honda civic ex 2dr?
    cheap basic job - ~800

excellent job with special paint (like pearl) - ~1500 or more, but probably closer to 2000.

at least in MS...How much would it cost to paint a 94 honda civic ex 2dr?
To get the dents and rust out plus good paint-job, anywhere from $1200-2000.
You want the whole car painted, or certain panels? A front fender smoothed out, primed, and painted the same color could be upwards of $500 at a reputable shop. To work a whole car out and prime/paint a different color will easily be upwards of $1500 into $2000. Keep in mind, if you change the color, you'll have to re-register and title your vehicle (atleast in NY/NJ areas, and I would imagine anywhere else where color is listed on registration/title, etc.).

Anyone know how to get paint out of carpet?

    im cleaning my room.

and i thought i had picked up all my paint tubes.

i've used some things around the house to get it out.

    but it's still there.

    though not as bad.

but uh yeah its right in the middle of my room so i can't just throw something over it.

if its still wet you can just wash it out with water.Anyone know how to get paint out of carpet?
Whatever you do DONT let it dry. Even if you have a keep a wet rag on it while you're figuring out what to do.

Acrylic is water based or oil based? I think its water based, so you should be able to get it out with a product called Quick 'n Brite. Get it at walmart. Its pretty much the best all around cleaner I've ever used. Soap will never come out of the carpet. Don't use any kind of detergent except for maybe commercial carpet cleaner. However the Quick 'n Brite is much better.

If its oil based, you're going to have to use something that cuts oil like turpentine and I don't know if that will take the color out of the carpet.
Hi..i would try hand cleaner like the mechanics use. It is cheap and can be bought at Walmart or Canadian tire. Rub it on, let sit for a half hour, then wash as usual. I use it for all kinds of stains including grease and rust.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lthqxGqUZ鈥?/a>
Scrape up what you can neatly.

Lay an old towel over the paint and pat it until you can't get any more up.

DAB the rest with ammonia ( windex)

hopefully there will be no stain
you can try turpentine, but be careful, it might discolour the carpet.
my suggestion is paint the carpet green. its a solution and risky and artsy
I heard Avon skin so soft helps. call a rep and find out for sure before you buy it. Good Luck.
use goof off or goo gone. goof off works better.
    You could try rubbing alcohol

Ray Bolger, and Buddy Ebsen (later famous for his role as Jed Clampett on the 1960s TV showu The Beverly Hillbillies) was to play the Scarecrow.[6] Bolger, unhappy with being assigned the role of the Tin Man, convinced producer Mervyn LeRoy to recast him in the role of trhe Scarecrow. Ebsen did not object to the change; he recorded all of his songs, went through all the rehearsals as the Tin Man and started filming with the rest of the cast.[9] However, nine days after filming began, Ebsen suffered a reaction to the aluminum powder makeup he wore as the Tin Man; the powder had coated his lungs from his breathing it in as it was applied daily. By that point in critical condition, Ebsen had to be hospitalized and left the project. MGM did not publicize the reasons for Ebsen's departure until decades later in a documentary about the movie, and even his replacement, Jack Haley, did not initially know the reason.

The makeup used for Jack black Haley was quietly changed to an aluminum paste makeup; although it did not have the same dire effect on Haley, he did at one point suffer from an unpleasant reaction to it. Despite his near-death experience with the makeup, Ebsen outlived all the principal players, although his film career was damaged by the incident. His career did not fully recover until the 1956s, when he began a string of popular film and TV series appearances that would continue into the 1980s. Although his lungs had presumably recovered from the effects of the powder makeup, he eventually died from complications from pneumonia on July 6, 2003 at the age of ninety-five.[10]

Help! I want to be a silver tin man for halloween, but there isn't silver body paint in Thailand. How?
Wrap your body, legs and arms in aluminum foil. Get a can of silver spray paint from a hardware store and spray paint some gloves and a plain face mask to wear. If you want to look like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz movie, buy an oil funnel and spray paint that as well, then wear it on top of your head.Help! I want to be a silver tin man for halloween, but there isn't silver body paint in Thailand. How?
you could use aluminum foil to cover the pieces of your costume or gray spray paint if you can find that and maybe sprinkle silver colored dust on it, like what you would find in a craft store.

I want to paint my room silver and purple or lavender? How would that look?

Like on one side I麓d paint it silver, then on the other side purple or lavender , then silver, and purple/lavendr again

    My room has 4 walls??

    Would that look rly retarded??

Any other color ideas?? Im not rly sure if I like it really??

My friends said that it would totally fit to me, im just that kind of person, it matches to me , they say??

    What do u think??

Any ideas?I want to paint my room silver and purple or lavender? How would that look?
For me, it would be horrible. But it's not my room, it's yours. Do whatever makes you happy.

If you don't like it, you can always change it again.I want to paint my room silver and purple or lavender? How would that look?
I think that would be really pretty! I suggest though, instead of two walls with each color, do three walls the same and one different, as the ';accent wall.'; I have actually seen this done with a metallic silver on one wall and it looked pretty neat.

Have fun! Your room is your haven, so you should love it!
You should probably just paint the walls in the purple color and have silver accessories. You can put some silver paint on the walls, but not on the whole wall. Maybe try some purple stripes on one wall vertical.
It would be cool, in both ways (cool not warm, and cool like stylin'). Then you can change bedding to make it even cooler (temperature) or warmer with your mood or the seasons. Cobalt blue to cool it off even more, and in the winter you could have some wine colored bedding to warm it up.

I hate colors like rust, burnt orange, tan, etc. So I like your idea.
It would look great. The colors go together perfectly. My sister recently painted a metallic gold and plum in her dining room.It looks really good.Silver and purple would be pretty along with other decrotions that would accent the walls.Amber
Purple or Lavender are wonderful ideas. I'm not really sure about Silver. What about different shades or Purple? that would look really pretty. :)
what about all the purple/lavendar color and silver trim
i did that, only i added black trimming and it looked really cute. my bedspread was white with black outlines of flowers (from target) and pink pillows. my favorite room!

oh, and then check out my latest creation ...

    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?lis鈥?/a>
Actually that would look really nice, especially if you had some type of finish on the silver or gray walls. Just make sure the purple isn't a very bright one or it will look weird. A dark, kind of dusty purple will go well with silver or gray.
that would look totally awesome,go for it
it would be awesome. go with it!
Lavender and silver for the walls and you could get some purple accessories to put around like candles and stuff. I think it would look nice! You could also go with lavender and sage green, they are really pretty colors together. Good luck!
do what you think would look good. Normally you don't paint two walls one color and two another. I see a lot of 3 walls one color and the wall behind your bed a different.. But the color sounds very nice, I'm sure it will look nice. try steepleling. Where you take one color, (silver) paint the whole wall, then dip the steeple into the purple and blot over it.

I JUST FOUND THIS WEBSITE AND PLAYED WITH IT FOR A FEW. IT ALLOWS YOU TO PICK A ROOM (BEDROOM, LIVING..) THEN CHANGE THE COLORS OF THE WALL, TRIM, WIDOWS, ACCENTS. TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD LOOK LIKE... GIVE IT A TRY HUN, IT'S PRETTY FUN

First , under the picture click. Change image, then to the top right click, show room type. and goo to bedrooms. Then modify your colors.... pick a color for each of the palettes shown.. Have fun

    http://www.valspar.com/painter.html?imag鈥?/a>
    Cool
I'm thinking lavender walls with silver on the wood trim and a white ceiling.
hm, i think it would look cute :) if your like a teen or something not an adult lol. I suggest finding a beadspred first, like if your beadspread is like orange you shouldnt paint your room those colours. If your really stuck on colours then do what i did :P , i got a white beadspred and it had rainbow polka dots on it so i baught little paint samples of that colour and put polka dots on the wall.
I think that would look awesome! Have you thought about painting your whole room in like a deep purple and then sponging on lavender and silver on the walls? I think that would look great too.
the color combination is good but I suggest that you use silver to accentuate.
that would look awesome! and then just have some decor to matchhhh :)
Maybe you should just paint one wall silver, like the main wall behind your bed. Or do all purple and then add sliver accents in your room with things like those metal words that say stuff like dream and hope. My favorite color is purple and I would think this would look good.
or u can do stripes or something your idea might look cool but i have no idea.

How much would it be, on average, to re-paint a 1987 or 91 camaro in a nice shiny black?

If it's a complete re-paint with minimal work, $2,000.How much would it be, on average, to re-paint a 1987 or 91 camaro in a nice shiny black?
a shop will charge you no less than $1500. and thats 10 years ago, i'm not sure what it is now days. But you can buy a camaro with a good paint job (if you shop around) for the same or less than you would pay to have one painted. the Walmart spray paint job is cheap. How much would it be, on average, to re-paint a 1987 or 91 camaro in a nice shiny black?
probably around $2000 if you want it to be nice. any less and it will fade, and be crap in just a few years. and $2000 might still be low end, it just matters where you go.

Will they allow you to see some of their work in progress?
best way to find out is to bring the car to the body shop and ask them. tell them what u want and let the experts do the calculating
The cheapest paint job from Maaco will run you about $600 with no body work. These are classic cars though, so I would recommend getting a higher quality paint job that will last.

    How to remove face paint?

My friend painted his face tonight. And it stained it. Hes washed his face, used make up remover, use peroxide and nothing has made it get out. Do you have any things that will remove it? How to remove face paint?
Try nail polish remover (acetone). If that doesn't do the trick he will at least have a humorous story to tell in the years to come. How to remove face paint?
It really depends on what kind of paint your friend used on his face. Try baby oil. He needs to be careful because your eyes, nose and mouth may absorb any chemical that he tries.

Begin by determining the type of paint he used. Find what breaks down that type of paint. Once this is done, try to find a solvent that is safe for his face. By all means be careful. You may need to contact a nurse or doctor.

How to convert Paint shop pro brushes into Photoshop 7 brushes?

It depends on which Paint Shop Pro version created the brush. If they are .jbr (PSP 7 and earlier), try changing the file extension from .jbr to .abr.

If they are .pspbrushes (PSP 8 and later), I don't think it is possible.

Photoshop revamped the paint engine in version 6/7 and Paint Shop Pro did the same in version 8, and I don't think the brushes created in these versions are cross-compatible any longer.

If you have both programs, you can use the brushes in their native program to stamp the brush tip shapes onto a blank canvas, then save it as a compatible format , bring it into the other program, and recreate the brushes in the other program.

How many times i should wash my car in order for it to keep the original paint and look shiny?

I just got this Chrystler pt cruiser 08, I want to keep it looking shiny. I want the original paint to stay on it but i'm a student with a very tight budget cant afford to take it to the car wash everyday.before that, I had an old mitsubishi, i never used to wash it, the paint came out and it looked very bad. i dont want the same thing to happen to this car. What is the least time i should wash it and still look shiny? How many times i should wash my car in order for it to keep the original paint and look shiny?
Washing alone wont save your paint and keep it in original condition! you will need to wax it.

Wash atleast once a week, and depending upon the strength of the wax, atleast once every 6 months.

hope this helps, give us an email

and ill expand on this: ryan_hll@yahoo.com.au

Below is a good guide with some tips about how

to wash your car and somethings to look out for!

First wash it, then make sure you hand buff a good quality wax in.

Then wash at least once a month.

Wax once a year minimum. The first wax will keep you good for a while.
At least do it 4 times a month. or 1 or 2 times a week.

    How to keep paint fresh??

Ok, so I've been doing a huge painting project on my wall and I've mixed a lot of paints from the buckets into plastic cups. I need to go on vacation for a week but i need to keep these new shades good so they don't dry out, any suggestions on how to best go about doing that? I'd REALLY appreciate it.How to keep paint fresh??
Cover the cups of paint with plastic wrap, actually let the plastic rest on top of the paint it self, creating an air-tight kind of skin...this may sound silly, but then put them fridge, on the bottom shelf or something. I have kept wet brushes fresh like this for days, and paints for weeks... this is assuming you are using Acrylic. How to keep paint fresh??
The best thing I've found on projects (but not as big as yours) - screw-top jars such as empty coffee jars. Cling film might do it (tight over the cups), but the oxygen is mixing with your paint already, and there might be a skin over the paints if they are not completely air-tight.
Sadly plastic isn't airtight and if your paint is in cups you will have a hard time getting a good seal even with layers of plastic wrap and foil. I'd suggest going to a craft store and buying glass jars that are sold for candle makers. Look at the number and quantity of each paint color that you have prior to shopping for jars. Acrylic paint can also stored in the refrigerator. I'd remove all the items from the vegetable drawer, this drawer is usually moister. You can place a wet towel in the bottom of it as well to add humidity.

As a side note, consider sealing your artistic creation with faux finish sealer. Lowes, Home Depot and Menards all carry as sealer sold with their regular home paint. It will last years longer and be much easier to clean and resist marks and scraps.

What type of paint can i use to color my dash, steering wheel and door panels on my 1999 eclipse? An how?

I need to know step by step an types of things I need. Primer...?What type of paint can i use to color my dash, steering wheel and door panels on my 1999 eclipse? An how?
I used Krylon Fusion for plastics, clean the area with a hot towel and let dry, clean with rubbing alcohol, and then spray a few coats of paint and then clear coat, u could use an adhesion promoter if you'd please but its your choice, about the leather im not sure because ive never done it, but i do know of the vinyl paint that last person was talking about, its made by Duplicolor, i used it to color my carpet black but i wouldnt suggest it to anyone =(

You can buy vinyl paint from auto stores. My brother painted parts of his dash and door panels with it and it looks really professional. I'm not sure if he did anything to ';prime'; it, but I'm pretty sure he didn't have to do anything other than clean the surface first. He put painter's tape around the parts he didn't want to be painted, and took apart whatever he could so that it would be easier to paint and he wouldn't get paint in other parts of his car. I'm pretty sure it was spray paint, but I'm not positive... but just go to someplace like Auto Zone and ask about vinyl paint.

What are the right temperatures for applying polyurethane paint to any surface? How achieve high gloss?

Is it a water-based or oil-based polyurethane? That will determine the temps. Oils can be used in much lower temperatures and higher humidity than latexes, but they're more of a pain to work with and yellow significantly over time. You don't want to apply latexes in temperatures under about 45 degrees F. But you also don't want to apply latexes when it's too hot, either. If it dries too quickly, you'll have adhesion problems.

If you want a high gloss, buy a the coating in a high gloss sheen. Gloss of a coating is mainly determined by how small the solids particles are ground. If your preferred product isn't availbable is a full gloss, you can increase the sheen of your semi-gloss by simply applying more than the recommended two coats. What are the right temperatures for applying polyurethane paint to any surface? How achieve high gloss?
the best temp is 77 degrees Fahrenheit and 50 percent relative humidity. the best way i have found to get it really glossy is to buy a foam roller from like lowes or home depot. there like four inches long and about an inch in diamiter. they roll it on really nicely. then after 4-6 hours sand with 220 grit sand paper and apply more. the more times you do it the glossier it gets. twice usually dose it. it also helps that after you roll it on wait like 20 minutes and then roll it again with the roller not putting more polyurethane on it and it will help to remove the bubbles.... remember never to shake the can to mix it use a stick. What are the right temperatures for applying polyurethane paint to any surface? How achieve high gloss?
Anything above 80 f. Actually the warmer the better. Mix it, if using a sprayer for the best results, as stated on can to go through the spray process. Spray on first coat very thin and wait for a few minutes for it to get tacky. That is when you do the second coat a little thicker but still not too thick. Wait for it to dry a bit and get tacky and do another coat, all in all about 4 to 6 coats. The last coat you want to put on a bit thicker but watch that you don't get so much it runs. That should leave a high gloss shine when it dries and a very nice coat. Before you start painting you need to be sure to get a tack cloth and get all the dust particles off as if you don't, they will show up on the finished product.

  • Around how much will it cost to paint the outside of my home?

A simple formula that seems to hold pretty true is between $1 and $1.50 per sq.ft. which includes at least two coats of finish high quality name brand paint. Example 2000 sq. ft. would be between $2000 and $3000. Be careful when getting estimates you will find places that are cheaper per sq. ft. but then they add on things like masking around windows and doors, cleaning up, and extra for two colors. Hope this helps.Around how much will it cost to paint the outside of my home?

Approximately how much will it cost if i want to paint my car on my own?

I'm trying to see if its worth it or if I should just get it done professionally. I have a 91 grand marquis. It has a few rust spots. The vinyl is worn as well. What all do I need to get the job done? How would I do the vinyl just paint over it or sand it and repaint, and what kind of paint would I use? I'm thinkin latex for that. Looking for all useful info.Approximately how much will it cost if i want to paint my car on my own?
Vinyl has to be stained as paint will just flake off and generally look horrible.

The supplies, air compressor, spray guns, paint, primer, tape, masking plastic sheets, activator, reducers, respirators, and MANY other things that are required to paint a car will cost, at least, a few multiples of what the car is worth (thousands). Moreover, when I have painted cars in my garage, I have learned that it is most certainly a skill that takes practice. In other words, the first painting attempt will look poor. The 2nd time will be better, and the 5-8th time will start looking decent. You will never get a mirror-like orange-peel free paint job in your garage.

My recommendation would be to go to Maaco (or similar) and spend the $1000 or so that they want for a cheap base coat / clear coat paint job. Is the car worth spending $1000 on?Approximately how much will it cost if i want to paint my car on my own?

How many square feet of wall and ceiling surface do u need to paint??

The floor and ceiling r rectangular, 20 ft by 15ft. The doorway into the room is 3ft by 7ft. There r 2 rectangular windows on one wall each one measuring 3ft by 4ft. On another wall there is a circular window whose radius is 1ft. On the fourth wall there is an entrance to another wall tht measures 8ft by 7ft. The height of the room is 9ft.

i got confused on this question and on how to do it

can someone plz help me, thx!How many square feet of wall and ceiling surface do u need to paint??
    Here's what you do:

You have this huge room, but then there is a bunch of area that you DON'T need to paint.

So, first find the area of the whole thing and then subtract the areas of everything you don't need to paint

so the surface area of the entire room is 2(20x15) + 2(9x15) + 2(20x9) = 1110 sq. ft

Now find the areas of everything u dont need to paint:

    doorway - 3x7 = 21

    windows - 2(3x4) = 24

    circ. window - 蟺(1)^2 = 蟺

    entrance - 8x7 = 56

    1110 - 21-24-蟺-56 = 1005.86 sq ft should be painted

hope it helpsHow many square feet of wall and ceiling surface do u need to paint??
It might help if you draw this out.

    floor %26amp; ceiling are 20 x 15 each, right?

    = 300 + 300

    = 600

    plus four walls

    wall 1 = 9 x 20 =_______

    wall 2 = 9 x 15 =______

    wall 3 = 9 x 20 =_______

    wall 4 = 9 x 15 =______

Total area of the four walls (add up the above): ______

Then add the 600 to the total of the four walls. This is your total area without any windows or doorways. Then you have to subtract the area of each window or doorway:

less the door which is 3x7 = 21

less the window area = pi times r squared

    =3.142 x 1 squared

    =9.87

    less the entrance =8x7 =56

so now you can get your final answer

MAACO is a national low-cost chain that can often paint a car for between $250-$400.

Middle of the road auto body shops often will quote prices between $1,000 and $2,000, depending on the amount of work.

Custom body shops can charge $4,000 to $8,000 if it involves removing many parts, changing the color of the car, detailing the engine, rebuilding mechanical parts, chrome plating, etc.

It all depends on how nice of a paint job you want, but anything less than the ';right way'; (proper materials, tools, techniques, etc.), isn't going to last all that much (if at all) longer than the ';Krylon'; method.
1st you need to sand off the old paint or strip most of it off. You can buy paint stripper to do this ,but it is very messy. A cheap way out is to use scotch brite pads and scuff up the old paint as best as you can. then you need duct tape to tape off anything that you dont want to get paint on, such as the metal trim around the glass or door locks. You can cover the glass with newspaper to cover as much as you need. Then you need a good primer paint to paint the entire car with. Dont know how much you need because i dont know how big of a car you have. Then you need to buy the actual paint you are going to paint the car with. You may want to ask for an accelerator so the paint dries quickly. Where you buy the paint from, they can mix that right into the mixer for you. Then once the entire car is painted, you may want to buy some 2000 grit wet sandpaper to repair any runs that appear in the paint when it becomes dry. i would let the car dry for a few days before attempting to wet sand the paint. Let it dry good. So then you need a sanding block and wet sandpaper to rub out the runs or any other imperfections. Are you putting any clear coats on the black when it is done? This will really make the black jump out. So once you wet sand the imperfections, then you need a good orbital polisher or a wheel to wheel out the dullness from your wetsanding. Then finally you apply some glazing wax/sealer and microfiber cloths to bring out the shine. Couple hundred dollars should cover it $300-600

So are you still sure you want to do this yourself? It is a lot of work and time. Details of taping off the car is a lot of work too. So how does Maaco do it for $300??? maybe you should bring it there and get it back in a day or 2 all done. You can detail the shine later..

    good luck.....
Unless your friend is an experienced car painter, your car is not the place to start! Car painting is a real skill; you could end up with a mess -- runs, cracks, fish eyes, etc! Find a good ';body-man'; (or ';body-woman!';) to paint it!

I remember when Earl Scheib would paint your car for $19.95!
do you want to paint some part or the whole the vechile?

How to clean my clogged airless paint sprayer?

hi i just got a new airless paint sprayer and it got clogged how do i clean it?How to clean my clogged airless paint sprayer?
If you are currently using it and it stopped working, turn the spray nozzle 180 degrees, point it in a safe direction and squeeze the trigger, you may have some chunks in your paint. It's the colored thing on top of the spray gun, usually has an arrow on one end which indicated which way it's pointing.

You should strain your paint before spraying it to avoid chunks.

If it is clogged because you didn't clean it out, then you will need to take everything that has paint in it completely apart and work really hard at getting it all clean.

Go to START-%26gt;Settings-%26gt;Control Panel-%26gt;Mouse item and check out if there are any tabs on top of default ones (Buttons, Pointers, Pointer Options, Wheel, Hardware), e.g. one which allows you to set different options to the different mouse buttons.

If you can't see any unusual look for applications made by the hardware manufacturer (e.g. ';Logitech';) in the START menu ';Programs'; item (and the Tray Bar) or even in Add/Remove Programs (appwiz.cpl) just to be sure.

If you find it, check out mouse button settings (if can't see any unusual, uninstall the software and let windows use a default driver to the mouse, check out if it solved the problem).

If there's no manufacturer's driver for the mouse, download and install one and configure your mouse (could solve the problem of messed up buttons).

Last but not least, if there's UNDO there used to be a REDO (';undo the undo';) function too. By default, undo is CTRL+Z while redo is CTRL+Y but if that doesn't work, go to File Menu, select ';Edit';-%26gt;';Redo'; option.

    Hope it helps.
you have to remember paint has not actually changed since the year dot so its not surprising its not very good.

i was not aware anyone still actually used it, as for using it for editing images for a website use something a bit errr newer
    ';Also before anyone says get a better image editor, that isn't the question.';

No, it's NOT the question, it's the OBVIOUS answer.

You must be the last person on earth doing web design with that piece of junk. If you don't LIKE Paint, don't complain, find a better (FREE) alternative!!!

    For instance:
I'm gonna guess they where sniffing 5 gallons of glue, 3 gallons of paint thinner, huffing 50 whip cream cans and finishing it off with 4 gallons of nail polish
    lol!!! I agree!

    5 1/2 gallons.
It wasn't glue, it was paint thinner. ****** up Paint in two ways. And I'd say about 3 gallons each.
It wasn't glue. It was either WD-40 or Paint Thinner. Glue would have wore off before they had a chance to program it.
Paint? How much glue are YOU sniffing?

At least get paint.net or gimp... They're free, and don't suck as much.
    a tiny childrens art paint......thingy
lol right click undo is dumb.

i think they were doing something more hardcore than glue...
About enough to fill up a pool.

How do I get the fonts in MS Paint to stop anti-aliasing?

I'm operating with Vista, and for some reason MS Paint is making the fonts anti-aliased. How do I get it to stop doing this? It's really annoying! How do I get the fonts in MS Paint to stop anti-aliasing?
Choose a non-TrueType font (one that does not have the blue Tt symbol or green O symbol next to it)

    UPDATE:

You can't turn off anti-aliasing for TrueType fonts in Microsoft Paint. The whole point of TrueType fonts is that they can be scaled to any size with minimal distortion. More powerful graphics programs, including Adobe's Photoshop, allow you to change the anti-aliasing setting.

How to make a dotted straight line using paint ?

and u recommend some other online websites than i can use to create lines or to draw something ?How to make a dotted straight line using paint ?
to make a dotted straight line in ms paint, first draw a line in the thickness / color you want (not too thick)

then switch your foreground color to the color of the background (usually white)

then select the eraser tool, and size the eraser appropriately

    OR

select the brush tool and use the appropriate brush size/type

click in the areas where you want to erase/break the line

You can zoom in to make it easier to count pixels. the bottom right of the paint window shows what pixel you're focused on

    How to paint with photoshop?

I'm pretty well-rounded with photoshop, but I'd like a good tutorial on how to paint with it. I fell in love with this work here http://zhuzhu.deviantart.com/art/Bird-81鈥?/a> by zhuzhu on deviantART. To make something like that would be so awesome. Have any tips or good tutorials? Thanks for any help. :)How to paint with photoshop?
That artist painted with Painter 6. You can paint with any art program (It's about how to use the tool, not how good the tool is, blahblahblah, haha) but I have to admit that Corel Painter is much, much easier to get a ';painting'; effect than Photoshop.

PS7 to me always seemed more digital graphics inclined, and the effect always seemed to lean towards a digital feel than a painted feel. Painter is better in the sense that it has many brushes designed for getting desired effects (chalk, paint, watercolour, sponge, etc.)

However, on PS you can always play with the brushes. Lay down a base colour, get a soft brush and toggle with the opacity and play around with it. Choose colours to do shades and highlights, and see if you can create the most basic of shapes through shadows/highlights before you move onto actual painting. The key to experiment. Try to avoid dodge and burn, because those give a less realistic feeling of painting than actually applying the colours.

It takes practice, and I admit myself that I cannot abide doing painted pictures in PS (My pressure sensitivity on my tablet isn't as varied and controlled on it as I like it to be in Painter).

For tutorials, I think it's best to search yourself and see what effects you want. Just do a search on dA and hit the Popular section, you'll find really good tutorials right off the bat (dig a bit deeper for the effects you want.)

    http://www.photoshoptutorials.ws/

This site is yet another resource, but it is VERY varied on all uses of PS. But if you do a keyword search you'll come up with some tutorials.

Lastly, if you want to play with other programs, try openCanvas. ( www.portalgraphics.net ) It is similar to Painter (although not as wide-ranged) and has a 30 day trial that you can play with, even if it's just for techniques. =)

Good luck! How to paint with photoshop?
    Yep, use Corel Painter =)

  • Need to reach beyond local clients. How & or where do I go to target the wealthy or famous to paint portraits?

Getting sort'a bombarded with orders from friends %26amp; coworkers to identically reproduce paintings on canvas. The preference is their favorite photos. I've been a very nice guy %26amp; charging them less than 1/2 what a pro. would charge them. So, after 40+ paintings I'm ready to reach more rewarding challenges. I have DL a list of atheletes agents %26amp; puttin' together presentations by mail.....pictures, letter, proposal. Is this a good idea ? Are there other resources that are easier to engage in ? Thanks n advance to all.Need to reach beyond local clients. How %26amp; or where do I go to target the wealthy or famous to paint portraits?
If you are really good at oil portrait painting get a few examples ready and have the artwork scaned.($200 for an 30x40 size piece) I would then take the digital image and after adjusting the color balance in photo shop make a small size copy for an ad. you need to show a copy of the photo and the finished product.

Where you need to advertise is in very expensive magazines. I see portrait artists asking twenty to fifty thousand dollars for large oil paintings in magazines like Southern Living or Architectural Magazine or the Robb report. O f course it costs a bit to advertise there also.

I have to tell you, that portraits are tricky. A great painting has to do more than look like the photo. It requires that it really look like a professional masterpiece of art. The painting must have a better background than the photo, and it might require the art be a combination of several photos.

So 40 paintings in or so, maybe you might try for a less ambitious cliental. If you are really good at this, and I am taking your word for it, show examples to a local art gallery and let them get you the clients. Offer a free protrait as a chairatle donation to the most expensive chairty you got in town, where all the rich people are giving money.

Do a portrait of the mayor, or the fire chief and give it to the city, make sure you do a press release also.

Find a wedding planner, and offer a commision if they get you portrait jobs for new brides.

Run down some of those crazy pagent mothers, and offer a free portrait as first prize as a way to get noticed. If one kid wins it the other moms will want one too.Need to reach beyond local clients. How %26amp; or where do I go to target the wealthy or famous to paint portraits?
try this, may be useful for you.
