How much do you think it would cost to pay someone to paint a 3 bedroom 2 bathroon (+hallways and kitchen)?

I live in a Suburb in Tennessee. And I was wondering how much it would cost to get my house painted. It's a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house. I also want the kitchen and hallways painted.How much do you think it would cost to pay someone to paint a 3 bedroom 2 bathroon (+hallways and kitchen)?
If you get a local painter, who works for himself (herself? don't see many women painters!) you might expect to pay about $500 for each room, hallways about the same price. The kitchen also. About $3500 all up. Why so much? Paint is not cheap - about $60 per 10 litres. Cheap labour is about $40 an hour. Expect to pay upwards of $5000 as the job may require more than one person.


If there are any repairs like cracks in walls or stains like cigarette stains, these will have to be added to the price - repair and clean as much as you can yourself.





Get a quote from 2 or 3 contractors so you can compare prices. The cheapest is not always the best. Get a reference if possible. Contractors usually have more jobs than they can handle so don't expect the job to be done in one day, maybe 3 days or even a week as 3 coats maybe required.





Best to get the quotes before deciding and you may have to go to a relatives place or a friends place for the week so you do not get paint fume poisoning. If you cannot stay elsewher then spread the work over a period of weeks so that you are not breathing fumes from all parts of the house. Start with the kitchen first. then the hallways then each bedroom.
