i have a handmade awesome picnic table, that has wagon wheels on the ends. it weighs an enormous amount! anyways, my Q, i have had it for like 4-5 years. every year i have to repaint it. i scrape off the paint, prime it, and repaint. WHY do i have to do this yearly????How to paint this?? thank you in advance?

because its an outside piece of furniture. You dont have to do all of that. You choose to do all of that. It should be kept weathered and used.
If you use good quality paint you can get up to 7-10 years nowadays in between paints if it's like the ones they have in picnic areas.
