How long will it take to paint a 12 x 18' room with all one color paint?

Most of a day. Do all the prep work the day before you intend to paint; this means remove all plate covers and wash all the baseboards, as well as rough clean the walls, i.e. get rid of spider webs or whatever. Have all your equipment in the room, after you've placed drop cloths. Get an early start and just work until it's finished, then do your clean up of brushes and rollers and pans. Wash what needs washing, throw out other stuff, put up all your tools unless they're wet, and sit back and enjoy your evening. The next day replace all the electrical covers, put the furniture back in place, and know you've done a fabulous job.How long will it take to paint a 12 x 18' room with all one color paint?
I have painted for may years as a profession. To give you a fairly accurate estimate you need to supply a lot more info like:





1) is the room empty?


2) do you need to do repairs first?


3) are you painting the ceiling?


4) is the color going to be the same as what is there now?


5) are you changing the color to a darker color or a lighter color, and if so will it be much darker or much lighter?


6) what tools do you have, cheap throw-away brushes, ...etc or good quality tools.


7) will you use a roller tray or a 5gallon bucket with a roller screen in it?


8) what do you plan to use for drop cloths?


9) Cheap paint or top quality?


10) type, nap length, and quality of the roller covers?





All these and more will greatly effect the time required, the look of the finished job and how long it will last.





There are no shortcuts on doing a good job. Always do proper prep, use good tools, top quality paint, and proper painting methods.How long will it take to paint a 12 x 18' room with all one color paint?
to prep and mask the walls using 2 coats of paint would take me about 3 hrs for a room that size rolling it
depends who's painting it. I would take about 1-2 hours per coat. but I'm fairly experienced
