How much does it usually cost to repair paint damage on car hood? Can they fill huge chunks of missing paint?

A couple of weeks ago, my brother was driving my car %26amp; somehow ran into chicken wire (?!) %26amp; it caught under the hood %26amp; scrape paint off the car, on the corner edge of the hood. Upon inspection, it wasn't just paint missing, he took CHUNKS of paint out along the edge. You can see the grey body frame (the paint is dark blue) I want to get this repainted, if it won't cost too much.

I am wondering, can a professional fill out empty spots of paint, or do they have to repaint the whole hood, even though the paint missing is only on the corner of the hood??? It goes along for about 4-5 inches along the side of the hood

P.S. Don't make comment about my brother, he already knows he has to pay for this. :)How much does it usually cost to repair paint damage on car hood? Can they fill huge chunks of missing paint?
Repaint the whole hood, and make sure you go somewhere reputable where they can paint fade the hood with the fenders so that it matches. Don't let anyone fool you by telling you that you can get that touched up, you cannot. You specifically said that you can see gray where the paint is missing, that means the paint is gone all the way down to the primer. The whole thing needs sand and paint. Don't let them bondo the missing paint areas either, make them sand it down smooth, then repaint, or you will regret even doing it.How much does it usually cost to repair paint damage on car hood? Can they fill huge chunks of missing paint?
you are looking at anywhere from 1200 to 1500 dollars to repair what is described in your question. abody shop will be able to perform the task of making your car new again. but be warned do not just take it some mom and pop place do some research first and find a very well established collision shop.
Sounds more than just a quick touch up thing. This will probably need a respray. note: mettalic paint will obviously cost more.
Have a touch up person look at it.

If it's too bad for touch up then a sanding and respray will be required.
my be about 100 or 200 i really dont know but i do know that they can fill huge chunks of missing paint

good luck!
