Work being so slow at the moment I am fixing up an repainting all the machinery at my work. They have years of caked on grease/dirt/metal dust caked on them. I've tried mineral spirits and degreaser and they seem to gust make it into a mud. A power washer works great on the parts you can move outside, but I can nut use the power washer inside on the main assemblies of the machines. i would use a putty knife to take of most of the dirt and grime. then use an engine degreaser. that will do it
