I have a new light fixture. It is white and I want it green. Do I need to remove the new paint that is on it or can I just paint over that new paint. This is going in a bathroom. I would prime it first with Kilz. If the fixture has a lot of detail, use a canned spray paint. If you don't prime it the new paint will probably peel off sooner than later.
