How much does it cost to remove asbestos cladding? Alternatively, can you paint/reclad over it? THANKS?

We are looking at buying a three bedroom house. which is clad in fibro cement (asbestos). We are wondering how much it would be to remove and dispose of the cladding. Alternatively, can you paint/reclad over asbestos fibro? THANKSHow much does it cost to remove asbestos cladding? Alternatively, can you paint/reclad over it? THANKS?
You can paint over it. No need to remove it, unless you are going to install new siding. Don't do any sanding or scraping without a resperator. It costs a lot to remove it. Have to get a permit and have only licensed persons do it.How much does it cost to remove asbestos cladding? Alternatively, can you paint/reclad over it? THANKS?
You cannot legally remove this siding..You would pay an arm and a leg around 15k minimum for removal..not including to put what else you want back over it..It will paint very nice..Sherwin Williams sells a good exterior product for sealing this out
In the long run its going to cost you a fair few thousand If you buy it. If it asbestos are you sure?? How old is the house?? if its older than 27 years it is sure to be asbestos, younger 20 yrs it won't be , it might look like it. In between is suspect. You wont be able to insure it if it is asbestos and if you try to sell it new laws make it unlawfull to disguise asbestos, SSSooo the fine is over $10,000. And it will cost you between $6,000 and $10,000 to remove and dump all legal like, When the asbestos cladding comes off then you could find wet rot or termite damaged, If I were you I would get hold of a house inspector for about $100 -$150 you can get peace of mind, then you can sit down with a nice glass of wine or beer and enjoy your peace of mind.
dont touch it or ever acknowledge you knew it was there (disclosure forms).

You can paint or clad over it, but i would hide it.
